marlon’s eagle-eye

Marlon collects exotic bird feathers – not your average collector! Not your average anything, in fact. It all started some years ago. philippine monkey eating eagleMarlon, whilst island-hopping, took a detour to Mindanao and Luzon. There he found a couple of very large, strikingly handsome feathers. The feathers were recognised by his friend, Alberto, at the resort as crown and mane feathers from the legendary Philippine Eagle (Pithecophaga jefferyi). So we catch-up at The Fantastic Plastic Cafe  and talk turns to feathers and the Philippine Eagle. I rabbit-on about my blog and my intention to include “endangered species” pages. Two coffees later I have a collaborator. Later I researched this remarkable big-bird and created a special page on my blog for the critically endangered species titled: “Philippine Eagle”, which is located under the “rare birds” drop-down menu. Blog-burb sorted. Must admit this big-bird looks endearingly quirky and yet he is one of the most powerful predators hunting the skies today, cheers  catchul8r  molly

Already love this blog. Well written – yes, Marlon isn’t the average collector. I don’t know anyone that collects bird feathers – still … Roxanne

  3. He does look endearingly quirky, but I don’t think I’d want to be on the wrong side of that beak.
